FOTD: Glittery Gunmetal Grey | The Cupid Bow

Glitter can turn a simple eyeshadow look into the most glamourous… but it can be one hell of a mother trucker to work with. If you’re a makeup junkie like me then you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. It goes everywhere doesn’t it? I usually find traces of it in my bed a week after I’ve used it. And in other random places. Like the fridge. But despite its bad behaviour we still continue to use it… because it does look blimin’ beautiful when it’s on doesn’t it? Last night I opted for a gunmental grey look with a touch of glitter over the top for a few (thousand) cocktails with the girls (and this would be the part where I kindly ask you to forget that I was supposed to be doing Dry January). I’ve done a normal gunmental grey smokey base and have patted a small amount of bronze glitter over the top for a contrasting hue. I did have a lot of fallout with this look (oh surprise, surprise) but I’ve discovered a nifty trick that helps to rid the flecks from the skin without sticking to it and smudging into your foundation. When I apply my Ben Nye Banana Powder underneath my eyes, I leave it to sit there until I’ve done my eyeshadow. This way, the powder catches the fallout from my eyes and I can just sweep it all off together with a fan brush. TA-DAH! You are most welcome πŸ™‚
