In all my time blogging, I can’t believe I’ve never done a “What’s In My Makeup Bag” post. My makeup collection is ever growing (but I kinda have an excuse as a makeup artist) so I thought I’d share with you all what I’ve currently been loving this month! This isn’t everything in my makeup bag of course, but just the essentials that I’ve found myself reaching for more than others. Can you spot anything in here that you’re also using, or a Holy Grail product you’ve recently discovered? Tell me in the comments!
I’ve been reaching more for ginger moisturers these days, as my skin’s been feeling extra dry from the bitter Wintery air. I was gifted a bunch of Caudalie products last year to try, but have only just got round to trying this Vinoperfect. It’s hydrating, light and leaves you with soft, velvety skin. Tinted moisturiser lovers, you’ll love it! Try it here.
Laura Mercier Mineral Primer
Laura Mercier created the primer, and now has 7 of them in their range to suit all skin types. I’m currently using their mineral one as I find it absorbs into the skin so easily, and acts as a perfect canvas for your base. Check out the rest of their primer range which included a hydrating, oil free, radiance, radiance bronze, spf protect and original. Unfortunately the mineral one has now been discontinued, but the original one would be the closest to in terms of its uses, which you can buy here.
Ester Lauder Lash Primer Plus
So Laura Mercier is how I prime my skin and Estée Lauder is how I promise my lashes! I only discovered lash primers last year, and they’ve made a dramatic difference to thickening my lashes and acting as a base for my mascara. This one doesn’t have any colour to it, so it’s perfect for everyone. You can shop it here.
Kiko Colour Sphere Eyeshadows
Italian brand Kiko has both quality and affordable products and I’m particularly a fan of their baked colour sphere eyeshadows. I currently have four of them, but the two that I’ve been reaching more for my nights out are number 27 and number 32 Dark Dove Gray. They’re extremely pigmented and have great staying power, as well as being extra glittery! You can find them here.
Laura Mercier Ritual Baked Blush Bronze
I’m a sucker for a limited edition, and this blusher bronzer is now exception. Essentially this is a bronzer, but with flecks of blushed through it to get the best of both worlds. You may find it a little hard to find now as it was from last year, but I’ve managed to find it available for purchase here.
Estée Lauder Sumptuous Mascara
I’m a definite snob when it comes to mascaras and not a fan of wands that are too big, giving a clumpy effect. This Estée Lauder mascara meets halfway, giving volume to my lashes and lengthening at the same time. I’ll definitely be restocking when it’s run out. You can shop it here.
LimeCrime Pink Velvet Velvetines
I received this last year as part of a Valentines campaign, and have been loving it ever since! It’s a vibrant pink liquid lipstick that dries down to a matte finish, and DOES NOT BUDGE once it’s on your chops. They’re array of colours is beautiful, and you can shop them here.
The Face Stockholm Creme Shadows
I love using cream eyeshadows either in their own, or as a base. As you can see, the purple shade called Satand has got more love than the beige shade called Taft (which I intend on using more as a base/eyeshadow primer). They are very long wearing and crease proof when used with a primer. Shop them here.
Mac Dark Side Lipstick
I’m a massive fan of MAC lipsticks. They have a huge collection of different colours and finishes, but I’m preferring matte textures at the moment. This dark purple shade called Dark Side is one of my favourites for Winter (as you can see by how much it’s been worn down!). Shop it here.
MAC Boldly Bare Lip Pencil
im a,so a huge fan of MAC’s lip pencils. They’re not waxy, very wearable and enduring. The nude shade should be a staple in every girl’s makeup collection, as it suits everyone. I like to wear it all over my lips as my main colour! Shop it here.
Makeup Revolution Run Boy Run Palette
As with my mascaras, I’m normally a massive snob with eyeshadows too and would shun drugstore makeup, but this Makeup Revolution palette has completely won me over by it’s price, and quality. The palette has a beautiful range of colours, and the pigment is close to something you would find in higher end brands. Shop it here.
