I am blessed to live a very fulfilling and rewarding life. I would consider myself very lucky indeed. I of course have my days where I seriously cannot be bothered, and want to stay in bed watching reruns of Power on Netflix with a packet of Fox’s biscwits, but on the whole I’m incredibly happy. There are many aspects of my life that contribute to this, but for this post’s sake, I’m going to whittle it down to six…
Friends and Family
This one’s going to be pretty obvious but I’m seriously lucky to have an amazing circle of friends and family. From lunch and cocktails with the girls to taking my nephew to soft play, they’re one of the reasons I live such a happy life. You can’t choose your family (and if I had to I’d choose the same again) but you definitely can choose your friends. And again, I wouldn’t change them for the world. I pretty much view my friends as family anyway, so they can all be listed under the same category. I love you all.
Health & Fitness
This is something I’ve only really gotten into this year in a bid to get in shape for Vegas, but to be honest I wish I had fallen into health and fitness much sooner. I’ve become a real gym bunny (you can normally find me in the weights section) and I’ve become amazed at how fitness can really lift your mood, energy levels and general wellbeing. If I’m feeling under stressed or something has upset me, I will hit the gym for a sweaty session to work it all out, and I leave feeling 1000 times better. Then it’s off home to rustle up a healthy salad or fresh pasta. Or ring up Domino’s. Don’t judge me, we all do it.
This one’s probably going to come as no surprise either, but I can’t get enough of my little corner of the internet. It’s what I’m most proud of in life to date and continuously strive to better. To say that I built this blog up completely from scratch, built a following of nearly 8,000 and even won an award for, is an invaluable feeling. I love writing, photography, helping others and meeting new people – so there’s really no better way to marry all of this together than through a blog!
Those who know me well will know that I’m not one to sit or stand still. I live my life at a million miles an hour with lots going on at all times. I have to feel like I’m constantly progressing in life – with my career, my blog, relationships, fitness and everything else that I consider important – to really feel happy. There is no better feeling than ticking something off my bucket list, reaching a personal goal or just generally improving. I am sometimes a bit hard on myself, but it’s only because I want to be the best version of myself, for me and for others. When I am progressing, that’s when I know I’m really living my life to its fullest.
The Law Of Attraction
If you have been following my blog recently, you will have read my post on The Law Of Attraction. And if you missed it, you can read it here. I am a huge advocate of The Law Of Attraction and the idea that you really can have control of your life and what you bring into it by thinking positively. For me, there really is no other way for me to live my life now, and I’m trying to introduce it to friends and family. When I see the Law Of Attraction working for me and for others, it encourages me on bad days and keeps me pushing forward.
Travel, I think, is one of the most important aspects in everyone’s life. Or at least should be. There is a whole world out there that needs to be explored and it’s amazing what a holiday can do to you. You can learn so much from the other cultures and new people, that you can’t from the media or even books. Get out there! I’m always in a different place whenever I come back from a new place, feeling inspired, having learnt new things and ready for the next adventure. Never stop travelling.
There you have it. Six things that make me happy. Bar pistachio Magnums, David Gandy and newborn babies, we pretty much have a full house. What’s putting a smile on your face?
